Smoking is prohibited in guest areas.

Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, IQOS, etc., is prohibited in all guest rooms and public spaces on the ship. Please use smoking lounges located on each floor or a smoking lounge located inside the drivers' salon.
Smoking in the prohibited areas is extremely dangerous as it may result in a fire accident. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated. If you are found to be smoking in the prohibited areas, we will charge 20,000 yen (tax not included) and guest room and facility fees (for the period made unavailable) for cleaning (deodorization) and as a penalty.

*Prohibited acts that may prejudice passenger safety from Article 23-2 of the Marine Transportation Act
Smoking in the prohibited areas of a ship (Article 23-14 of the Regulation for the Enforcement of the Marine Transportation Act) is strictly prohibited in Article 23-2 of the Marine Transportation Act. Failure to comply with these terms will result in the maximum penalty of 300,000 yen (Article 53 of the same act).

Guests boarding with a bicycle (about checked baggage fees/special item fees)

Bicycles of which total linear dimensions exceed 2 m (including those folded) will be handled as a special item and the corresponding fees will apply.

Please remember to bring your automobile inspection certificate as we will be asking you to present it for boarding.

Handling of vehicles

  • Passenger car fare is applicable to and online reservation is available for campers, vans, minivans, Jeep-type vehicles and adapted automobiles that are less than 6 m in height/with a seating capacity of 10.
  • Online reservation is unavailable for vehicles with a cab-over or hood as fares for trucks will apply. Please contact us at the phone number for reservation of trucks below:

Different vehicle fare may be applied after checking in on the day of the scheduled departure. Please refer to our conditions for carriage for more information.

Vehicles with low ground clearance

Please let the ticket window staff at each port know if you are boarding with a vehicle with low ground clearance as certain proceedings are required.
Whether or not vehicles with low ground clearance have been inspected, lower part of their bumper or lower parts of their body may come into contact with the ground when boarding or while being transported on a ship. Please note that we do not take any responsibility or liability for any damage arising from such case.
Please also note that we may claim damages from you if we incur any damage from oil leakage etc.

*We may refuse to take your vehicle at our discretion if it has extremely low ground clearance.

Guests with an electric car

Charging station for electric vehicles [available on: Izumi/Hibiki/Settsu/Yamato]
  • Only a limited number of charging stations for electric vehicles are available. Please make a reservation by phone or through our website (check the box for using a charging plug) if you wish to charge your vehicle.
  • Please complete your boarding proceedings at the gate 1 hour prior to boarding.
  • Power sockets only support 200V.
    *100V is not supported.
  • Please make sure to bring your own charging cable.
  • Only standard charging is available.

*Charging stations are located in a parking lot for passenger cars on the 5th floor. Please note that vehicles with high ground clearance (maximum height 2.1 m) or low ground clearance may not be able to get through to use the charging station.

About the door in the parking space

The parking door will be opened in the morning of the arrival date as per instructions of the captain after getting to the shore.
Please note that you will not be able to get off the ship immediately after arrival for safety reasons.

*If you are a fellow passenger, please get off the ship through the passenger boarding aisle at the lobby located on the 5th floor and get into your car at the parking lot in front of the terminal for safety.

Guests who require assistance

Please note that our staffs and crew members will not be able to assist our guests with meals, elimination needs and bathing. Please accompany an attendant if you require assistance.
Please also note that we will not be able to keep ourselves available only for certain guests at all times.

Please contact our reservation center in advance if you who under any of the following:
  • A wheelchair user boarding unaccompanied (guests who wish to seek assistance from our staff)
  • Guests using a stretcher
  • Guests with an air pack or other medical instruments *You must sign a memorandum before getting on board.
  • Guests with a disease (please make sure to bring your pills etc.) *You may be asked to submit a diagnosis or medical certificate.

*Our ferry services are long-distance and unexpected incidents could always happen. Please be acknowledged that you may be denied boarding for your safety, despite your confirmed reservation, at the captain's discretion if he/she decides that your safety is in danger, depending on weather/sea conditions, as we do not have any medical personnel on board.

Guests with an injury

*Please submit a diagnosis if you fall under any of the following:

Disease name  
Influenza 5 days after onset of the disease and 2 days after defervescence
Pertussis
(whooping cough)
No characteristic coughs or treatment with antibiotics is complete
Measles 3 days after defervescence
Mumps 5 days after onset of the swelling of the parotid glands, submandibular glands or sublingual glands
Rubella
(German measles)
Until the rash disappears
Chicken pox all rashes have become scabs
Adenovirus infection 2 days after the symptoms disappeared
Guests with a disease (e.g. tuberculosis, meningococcal meningitis, epidemic keratoconjunctivitis, etc.) Until the doctor acknowledges that there is no fear of infection due to symptoms

*guests during suspended period in the School Health and Safety Act are Not suitable for boarding until they are given permission by a licensed physician.However This is not the case if it is recognized by a doctor that there is no risk of infection.

  • Guests with a drug addiction or who may cause inconvenience to other guests
  • Unaccompanied guests with a serious illness
  • Guests whose life may be at risk due to old age/health conditions or whose health may be significantly impaired

Guests with a service dog

Guests with a visual, aural or physical disability who wish to bring their guide dog, hearing dog or service dog may board the ship together with no additional charge.

*Please let one of our staffs know if you are boarding with your service dog. We will confirm your service dog's harness (white or yellow body harness for guide dog), indication of "service dog" or "hearing dog", certificate of service dog for people with disabilities, etc.

Guests who are aurally challenged

In case of emergency, our staff will bring a key, notepad, pen and evacuation guide plate to your room, open your room with the key and guide your way out.

Pregnant guests

Please let us know if you are a pregnant guest and making a reservation.
*Our ferry services are long-distance and unexpected incidents could always happen. Please note that we do not accept guests who are in their 8th month (28th week) of pregnancy for safety reasons, as we do not have any medical personnel on board.
Please be acknowledged that you will still be denied boarding despite your confirmed reservation at the captain's discretion if he/she decides that your safety is in danger, depending on weather/sea conditions.

*Into pregnancy must submit a diagnosis or medical certificate for boarding proceedings.

Guests using the ladies' room

Please make a reservation if you wish to use a ladies' room. (If you are making a reservation online, please enter the total number of guests using the room in the online reservation form.) Please note that ladies' rooms are available for women only. Male guests in elementary school and above are not allowed inside. We ask for your kind cooperation.
Please check the details of the room you are booking as amenities and room type vary with each ship.

About the use of public observation bath

  • With a irezumi, tattoo and who are drunk cannot enter a public bath.
  • Male and female guests in elementary school and above are not allowed inside the bathhouse together.
  • Cameras, cellular phones and smartphones are strictly prohibited in all public baths and changing rooms.

Guests with pets

Pets are not allowed in rooms other than the pet room and with-pet rooms. If you should bring your pet into rooms other than the pet room and with-pet rooms, please note that you will be charged the actual cost of cleaning fee, new bedding, etc. The vehicle parking space is very hot. Please do not leave your pet in your vehicle and make sure to use the pet room. For pet room usage fee and cage size, please confirm the pet cage size and usage fee.
Guests who do not own a cage, you shall put a collar, muzzle and lead on your pet when boarding and disembarking. Please make sure to keep the leads to yourself even after getting off.

Please take care of your own pets (meals, refreshments, etc.). You are in charge of cleaning up your pets' eliminations and keeping the areas they used clean when boarding and disembarking. Pet room will be locked from lights-out until the opening of the information center in the morning. Please check the opening hours at the information center on each ship if you wish to take care of your pet while on board. There is no temperature control for pet room (room temperature is kept the same as guest rooms).

Dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds are allowed on board in the pet room. However, dogs that fall under the specially controlled dog category (Tosa, pit bull, Rottweiler, etc.) are not allowed.

  • Pets that require special care (skunks, monkeys, tropical fish, reptiles, etc.)
  • Dogs that have not received vaccines against filarial diseases and other infections (rabies, combined vaccine) within the past year.
  • Specific dog breeds [Tosa dog, Akita dog, Kishu dog, German Shepherd, Great Dane, Dobermann, St, Bernard, Alaskan Malamute, Mastiff and American Staffrodshire Terrier (American Pit Bull Terrier)]
  • Pets that frighten or bring inconvenience to other passengers (e.g. by barking unnecessarily) or do not obey the orders of their owner
  • Pets do not fit into our pet cage
  • Pets that are in heat or pregnant
  • Pets that carry an infectious disease or are not healthy

*If you wish to use pet room, please read and accept the terms and conditions of use and sign the room use application form.

The hallway to the parking space on the 5th floor will be very crowded in the morning as the door to the parking space opens only after getting to the shore. Please make sure to clean your pet's cage in the pet room and place your pet into a cage or put a collar, muzzle and lead on your pet and wait in the lobby on the fifth floor. To return the key, please ask one of our staffs nearby. Please note that if you are to pick up your pet during the rush hour, you may have no choice but to get off the ship after all other passengers have left.

Other prohibitions

Please refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol.
We do not accept drivers to get on board and off our ship with their car while driving under the influence of alcohol or while being intoxicated with alcohol.
Gas cans and cylinders containing gasoline or light oil are strictly prohibited on our ship.
We do not allow items restricted by the Regulations for the Carriage and Storage of Dangerous Goods in Ship to be carried on board as a carry-on baggage or a baggage loaded onto a vehicle.
Firearms and swords are strictly prohibited on our ship.
Please be informed that we may cancel the carriage contract in accordance with the conditions of carriage if you are found to be carrying any firearms or swords on board.

Internet access is available for all users of computers with a wireless access point/tablets/smartphones onboard or at the terminal.
