Handling of Fire in Areas Other Than the Smoking Room
Smoking outside of the designated smoking room (including e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited. All fire use on board is banned except for tobacco (including e-cigarettes) in the smoking room. Smoking outside of the smoking room is a very dangerous act that can lead to fire accidents. For the safety of navigation and maintenance of order, we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
Additionally, if smoking is confirmed in prohibited areas or if cigarette butts or ashes are brought in or disposed of in trash bins, we will charge a cleaning fee (deodorization) of 20,000 yen (excluding tax), along with the fare for the utilized guest room and facility usage fee for the period during which it cannot be used.
In all areas except the smoking room, including cabins, public spaces, and parking spaces, the use of matches, lighters, candles, portable stoves, gas canisters, and other fire sources is strictly prohibited.
*Prohibition of acts that may jeopardize passenger safety as per Article 23-2 of the Maritime Transportation Act
Smoking in areas where it is prohibited on board (as per Article 23-14 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Maritime Transportation Act) is banned under Article 23-2 of the Maritime Transportation Act. Violating this regulation may result in a fine of up to 300,000 yen (as per Article 53 of the same law).
Carrying Fuel Containing Gasoline or Diesel
Carrying fuel cans containing gasoline or diesel and gas canisters is not allowed on board.
Our company prohibits the carrying of hazardous materials that are banned from being brought on passenger vessels, whether loaded in vehicles or as luggage.
For Customers Bringing Firearms and Swords
Carrying firearms and swords on board is not allowed.
Our company may terminate the transportation contract based on the transportation terms if firearms such as shotguns or air guns are detected, so please be cautious.
For Customers Bringing Mobile Batteries
Prohibited Items
- It is prohibited to leave mobile batteries in your car, in carry bags, or in any place away from your hands. Please keep them with you at all times.
- Carrying damaged or swollen batteries is prohibited. Batteries that are clearly deemed dangerous are not allowed.
- Leaving mobile batteries unattended while charging or while charging devices such as smartphones is prohibited. Please charge them within your sight.
- Charging while sleeping is prohibited.
Important Notes
- Avoid charging on bedding that retains heat or inside bags.
- If the mobile battery feels hotter than usual while charging, please stop charging immediately.
- If there is abnormal heat or smoke, please contact the crew immediately.
For Customers Boarding with Bicycles (Regarding Luggage Fees/Special Luggage Fees)
For bicycles that, even when folded, have a combined length of more than 2 meters or cannot be folded, a special luggage fee will apply.
For Customers Boarding with Passenger Cars
You will need to present your vehicle registration certificate for boarding, so please do not forget to bring it on the day.
However, customers who are ‘f-net members’ and have registered their vehicle registration do not need to present it.

Vehicles under 6m in length and with a capacity of up to 10 passengers will be charged the passenger car rate. Online reservations are possible.

If the vehicle exceeds the length stated on the registration certificate due to loading or towing, the shipping fee will be based on the actual measured length.
For Vehicles with Low Ground Clearance
If boarding with a vehicle that has low ground clearance, you must complete the necessary procedures, so please arrive at least 60 minutes before departure and inform the port staff accordingly. Please note that boarding may be delayed depending on loading conditions.
Regardless of whether the vehicle has a valid inspection or not, there is a risk of contact with the lower bumper or undercarriage during boarding or inside the ship. Our company will not be responsible for any damage to the vehicle in such cases, so please be aware.
Additionally, if our facilities are damaged due to oil leaks, we may charge for repair costs, so please be aware.
*In cases of extremely low ground clearance, we may refuse boarding at our discretion.
Request to Drivers
For safety, please adhere to the following items.
- (1) After boarding, please turn off the engine switch and engage the parking brake.
- (2) Unless in special circumstances, please do not remain on the vehicle deck. Unauthorized access to the vehicle deck during the voyage is prohibited.
- (3) Follow the crew’s instructions when driving the vehicle inside the ship.
- (4) Smoking is prohibited on the vehicle deck.
- (5) Please wait until the ship has completely docked and the crew gives instructions before starting the vehicle engine.
- (6) For safety regarding human lives, cargo, and vessels, hazardous materials will be taken by staff during the voyage.
For Customers Shipping Vehicles Unattended

– Vehicles that cannot start or are inoperable. Other accident vehicles that are difficult to drive.

Please note that loading and unloading for motorcycles cannot be entrusted to us.
*If you load and unload by yourself, there will be no loading and unloading fee.
Please arrive at least 60 minutes before departure and inform us that you will handle the loading yourself during the procedure.
For unloading, please arrive 15 minutes before the ship’s arrival time and inform the staff at the counter.
Please follow the guidance and instructions of the staff regarding loading and unloading.
For Customers Boarding with Electric Vehicles

About Using Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities [Installed on: Izumi, Hibiki, Settsu, Yamato]
- When using electric vehicle charging facilities, please make a reservation by phone or online (be sure to check the box for charging plug usage), as there are limited slots available.
- Please complete the procedures at the boarding port counter at least one hour in advance.
- The outlet type is only 200V.
*100V type is not available. - Please be sure to bring your charging cable.
- The charging method is limited to standard charging only.
*The electric vehicle charging facilities are located in the 5th-floor passenger car parking lot, so vehicles with high ground clearance (height limit 2.1m) and low ground clearance may not be able to use them, so please be aware in advance.

For Customers Boarding with Hydrogen Vehicles
Due to safety concerns regarding high-pressure hydrogen fuel, we have the following restrictions on handling vehicles that use hydrogen as fuel.
- Vehicles That Cannot Board
– Unattended vehicles (product vehicles, passenger cars, cargo)
– Boarding with temporary numbers for attended vehicles (passenger cars, cargo) - Target Vehicles and Examples

Due to limited space for loading vehicles, reservations may not be possible. - Notes
– If you make a reservation by phone without prior notification and it is determined to be a hydrogen vehicle at the boarding port, you will not be allowed to board.
– If you make an online reservation and do not provide prior notification by phone, and it is determined to be a hydrogen vehicle at the boarding port, you will not be allowed to board.
– If you do not arrive at least 90 minutes before the departure time, you will not be allowed to board.
About the Opening Door of the Vehicle Parking Lot
The door to the vehicle parking lot will be opened after docking, as instructed by the captain.
For safety reasons, disembarkation cannot occur immediately, so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
For Customers Needing Assistance
Our staff and crew cannot assist with meals, restrooms, or bathing, so customers needing assistance are requested to be accompanied by someone.
Additionally, we cannot provide constant assistance to specific customers, so please be aware. The following customers must contact the reservation center in advance.
- Customers boarding alone who use a wheelchair (those wishing for assistance with boarding and disembarking).
- Customers using a stretcher.
- Customers using oxygen tanks or other medical devices. *You will need to sign a waiver to board.
- Customers with other medical conditions. (Please carry necessary medications.) *You may be required to submit a medical certificate or proof.
*Our routes involve long voyages, and unexpected situations may arise. There are no doctors or nurses on board, so even if a reservation is made, for safety reasons, if the captain determines that the safety of the customer cannot be ensured due to weather or sea conditions, boarding may be refused, so please understand in advance.
For Customers with Illnesses or Injuries
*If you fall under any of the following categories, please submit a medical certificate.
- Individuals with class 1, class 2, new influenza, or designated infectious diseases as per the Infectious Disease Control Law, or those showing signs of a new infectious disease cannot board.
*Refer to the transportation terms (Chapter 2, Article 3, Section 2 of Passenger Transportation) - Individuals who fall under the attendance suspension period as defined by the School Health and Safety Act

Individuals who fall under the attendance suspension period as defined by the School Health and Safety Act are not suitable for boarding, but if a doctor certifies that there is no risk of infection, this does not apply.
- Individuals with drug addiction or those who may disturb other passengers
- Severely ill individuals without an accompanying person
- Individuals whose lives are at risk or whose health may be significantly compromised due to age, health, or other reasons

There are no doctors or nurses on board, so even if a reservation is made, for safety reasons, if the captain determines that the safety of the customer cannot be ensured due to weather or sea conditions, boarding may be refused, so please understand in advance.
For Customers Boarding with Service Animals
Customers with visual, auditory, or physical disabilities who wish to board with guide dogs, hearing dogs, or assistance dogs can bring them on board free of charge.
*Please inform the staff upon boarding that you will be traveling with a service animal. We will check for the harness (white or yellow guide dog harness) or identification for assistance dogs and hearing dogs.
For Customers with Hearing Impairments
In case of emergency, staff will bring keys, notepads, pens, and evacuation guidance plates to your room, open the door with the keys they brought, and guide you to evacuate.
For Expectant Mothers
Please be sure to inform us when making your reservation.
Our routes involve long voyages, and unexpected situations may arise. Additionally, there are no doctors or nurses on board, so for safety reasons, we cannot allow customers who are 8 months pregnant (28 weeks) to board.
Please note that even if a reservation is made, if the captain determines that the safety of the customer cannot be ensured due to weather or sea conditions, boarding may be refused, so please understand in advance.
*You will need to present your maternity handbook during the boarding process.
For Customers Using the Ladies’ Room
Please make a reservation in advance to use it. (If making an online reservation, please enter the number of female passengers in the ladies’ room section of the reservation form.) Additionally, this room is exclusively for female customers, so if you are bringing children, boys in elementary school cannot use it. We ask for the understanding and cooperation of male customers aged 6 and above.
Please note that the equipped room types may vary depending on the ship you are using, so please check before use.
About Using the Observation Bath
- Customers who are heavily intoxicated are strictly prohibited from bathing.
Additionally, customers with tattoos or body art are requested to be considerate of other guests while using the facilities. - Both genders are not allowed to bathe together if they are elementary school age or older.
- The use of cameras, mobile phones, and smartphones in the bathing area and changing rooms is strictly prohibited.
For Customers Traveling with Pets
Pets are not allowed in areas other than the pet room and with pet room. If a pet is brought into areas other than the pet room or with pet room, we will charge for cleaning and bedding replacement costs. Additionally, the vehicle parking area can get very hot. Please do not leave pets in the car and be sure to use the pet room. Please check the pet cage size and usage fee.
Customers without cages are requested to have collars, muzzles, and leashes on their pets while boarding and disembarking. Additionally, please ensure you hold onto the leash tightly after disembarking and do not let go.
Customers are responsible for managing their pets (food, drink, etc.). Cleaning and disposal of waste during boarding and disembarking must be done by the customers themselves. The pet room will be locked from lights out until the morning when the information desk opens, so customers wishing to care for their pets should check the operating hours of each ship’s information desk. There is no temperature control in the pet room (it is set to the same temperature as the guest rooms).
Dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and small birds can be accommodated.
However, the following pets are not allowed to board or use the pet room.
- Special pets (skunks, monkeys, tropical fish, reptiles, etc.)
- Dogs that have not received heartworm prevention and vaccinations (rabies, combination vaccine) within the past year
- Specific dog breeds [Tosa, Akita, Kishu, German Shepherd, Great Dane, Doberman, St. Bernard, Alaskan Malamute, Mastiff, American Staffordshire (American Pit Bull Terrier)]
- Pets that bark excessively, disturb other customers, cause fear, or do not follow the owner’s instructions
- Pets that do not fit in our pet cages
- Pets in heat or pregnant pets
- Pets with infectious diseases or those in poor health
*Customers who do not make online reservations will be required to sign a waiver after acknowledging the precautions.
(Customers who make online reservations are considered to have agreed to the ‘Terms of Use for Pets on Board’ by checking the pet cage and With Pet usage regulations.)
Tomorrow, the vehicle parking lot door will open after docking, so the passage to the 5th-floor vehicle parking lot will be very crowded. Please clean the pet room cage and place your pet inside, or have them wear a collar, muzzle, and leash while waiting in the 5th-floor lobby. Additionally, please return the keys to the information desk or to a nearby staff member. During busy times, you may be among the last to disembark, so please be aware in advance.
