Handling Fire Hazards on Board Outside Smoking Rooms – Part 3

Smoking outside of smoking rooms, including electronic cigarettes, is completely prohibited. All use of fire on board, except for smoking in the smoking rooms (including electronic cigarettes), is forbidden. Smoking outside of smoking rooms is a very dangerous act that could lead to a fire accident. We ask for your understanding and cooperation to maintain the safety and order of the voyage.
If smoking activities are confirmed in prohibited areas or if cigarette butts or ash are brought in or discarded in trash cans, a cleaning fee (deodorization) and nuisance fee of 20,000 yen (excluding tax) will be charged, along with room fares and facility usage fees for the period they cannot be used.

In all areas except the smoking room, such as cabins, public spaces, parking spaces, etc., fire sources including matches, lighters, candles, portable stoves, and gas cartridges cannot be used under any circumstances.

* Prohibition of Acts that May Endanger Passenger Safety — Marine Transportation Act Article 23-2
Smoking in prohibited areas within a ship (Marine Transportation Act Enforcement Rules Article 23-14) is prohibited by Marine Transportation Act Article 23-2. Violators may face a fine of up to 300,000 yen (Act Article 53).

For Customers Boarding with Bicycles (Regarding Handling of Luggage Fare/Special Luggage Fare)

Bicycles that exceed a total length of 2 meters, even when folded, and those that cannot be folded require a special luggage fare for bicycles.

For Customers Boarding with Vehicles

Please bring your vehicle inspection certificate on the day of boarding as it is required for vehicle boarding.
However, it’s not necessary for “Funet members” who have already registered their vehicle inspection certificate.

If the loaded, towed, etc., exceeds the vehicle length described in the vehicle inspection certificate, the actual measured full-length transportation fare applies.

For Vehicles with Low Ground Clearance

If you are boarding with a vehicle with low ground clearance, you are required to complete the necessary procedures by 60 minutes before departure at the port counter. Boarding might be delayed due to loading conditions, so please understand in advance.
Regardless of whether the vehicle with low ground clearance has a vehicle inspection, there is a risk of contact with the bumper underside or vehicle bottom during boarding or within the ship. Our company does not take any responsibility for vehicle damage in such cases, so please be informed.
Also, if our facilities are damaged due to oil leaks or other reasons, repair charges may be billed, so please be aware.

* In cases of extreme low ground clearance, boarding may be denied at our discretion.

Request to Driving Customers

For safety, please adhere to the following items.

  1. (1) After boarding, please be sure to turn off the vehicle’s engine and apply the side brake.
  2. (2) Except in special cases, please do not stay on the vehicle deck. Also, unauthorized access to the vehicle deck during the voyage is prohibited.
  3. (3) Please follow the crew’s instructions for driving inside the ship.
  4. (4) Smoking on the vehicle deck is prohibited.
  5. (5) Please wait to start the vehicle’s engine until the ship is completely docked and crew members provide guidance.
  6. (6) For the security of human lives, cargo, and ships, carry-on hazardous materials will be safekept by staff during the voyage.
