For everyone using and working at the terminal, a comfortable space awaits
Hankyu Ferry Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture) announces a basic plan to construct a new terminal at the midpoint between the aging first terminal (Shinmoji Port) and the second terminal (same port) to enhance disaster prevention functions.
Construction is set to begin in spring 2027, with the new terminal expected to be completed in autumn 2028 and a grand opening planned for autumn 2029.

Background of the redevelopment
The current terminal has been in operation for 35 years, necessitating a complete overhaul of facilities and enhanced safety measures in response to recent disaster risks through a Business Continuity Plan (BCP). We have decided to build a new terminal to create a safer and more comfortable space for everyone.
Three values the new terminal will provide
① A user-friendly community facility
We aim to achieve a two-berth system at the first terminal, creating a new ‘face’ for Shinmoji.
② Safety and security as top priorities
We will adopt barrier-free designs considerate of the elderly and disabled, enhancing BCP measures and disaster risk management.
③ Environmentally friendly eco-design
We will promote ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) initiatives and work to reduce environmental impact through the use of solar panels.
Features of the new terminal
・ All-in-one terminal
Ensuring a comfortable and seamless travel experience for all customers
・ Observation deck
A space where you can enjoy farewell moments and take commemorative photos with a view of the port.
・ Welcome park
A place to relax, where you can walk your pets or take commemorative photos before boarding.
